Holes, cracks and water-stain patches repaired and sanded smooth, ready for paint.
13+ years of hands-on painting experience

Drywall repair is the step between damaged and finished. A hole from a doorknob, a crack at a ceiling corner or a ghost of a water stain will show through even the best paint job unless it is repaired properly first. Paint does not hide a bad repair, it highlights it.
Grand Rapids homes get a lot of the small damage that drywall repair solves. Seasonal humidity swings move framing and open hairline cracks, nails pop as wood dries, and older homes accumulate patches from decades of renovations. Every one needs the same careful treatment.
A repair that disappears is built in layers: a solid backing, tape on the seams, several thin coats of compound with sanding between them, and a primer on top so the patch takes paint the same way as the wall around it.
We look at the size of the damage, what caused it and whether the surrounding drywall is sound.
Loose material is cut back to a solid edge and, for larger holes, a backing or patch piece is installed.
Seams are taped, and compound is applied in thin coats, each given time to dry.
Each coat is sanded and feathered so the patch blends into the wall with no ridge.
The repaired area is primed so paint covers it the same way as the rest of the wall.
Repair costs depend on the damage, and these are the factors we look at:
Repair and painting are one job for us. The person patching your wall is thinking about how the paint will look on it, which is why the sanding and priming get the attention they do. Alvaro has 13 years of experience with painting jobs where prep decides the result.
We will tell you honestly if a repair needs more than a patch, such as a moisture source that has to be fixed first, so the repair is not repeated.
We repair drywall in homes and buildings across Grand Rapids and nearby cities. See our Grand Rapids painting page and Wyoming painting page.
Each coat needs time to dry before the next, and thicker patches take longer. A repair usually spans more than one visit or a long day, with the final sanding and priming at the end.
Often yes, though matching texture takes care. Tell us what the texture looks like and, if possible, send a photo, and we will tell you what we can match.
The leak has to be fixed first and the area has to be dry, or the damage will come back. If drywall is soft, moldy or sagging, it usually needs to be replaced, not patched, and we can tell you what we see.
Yes. Small holes are filled, sanded and primed, and the spot is blended with the surrounding wall so it disappears under the new coat of paint.
The repair is meant to be painted afterwards, so we plan the two together. We can quote the repair and the repaint in one visit sequence.
